As the Art Director and Illustrator for The Navigator Student Press at Vancouver Island University (VIU), I began by creating monthly illustrations for issue covers and feature articles. Over time, my role expanded to include designing a wide range of graphic materials, from printed brand collateral to thematic layouts for each issue. In 2023, I brought a fresh perspective to the publication by updating its visual identity with a new colour palette inspired by the deep greens and foggy tones of the west coast. This update gave the publication a more modern yet organic feel, while also refreshing the website design to align with the new identity. My work encompassed both print and digital materials, ensuring a cohesive and visually engaging experience across all platforms.
